E. Perot Bissell has built a reputation as a strategic operator and dealmaker across security, energy logistics, and private equity, and he has served as a director of Acadia Healthcare since April 2013. With more than three decades of corporate finance and operating experience, Bissell’s track record centers on executing consolidation strategies and scaling middle market businesses.
His recent roles include consulting for Egis beginning in February 2015 and joining that firm as a Managing Partner in August 2016. From late 2013 to June 2015 he led Next Generation Energy Logistics LLC as chief executive officer, steering a private equity-backed platform focused on downstream energy logistics opportunities. Prior to that he was vice chairman and then chief executive at Maxum Petroleum, where from 2004 to 2012 he guided the company to become North America’s largest independent distributor of lubricants and diesel fuel. Under his leadership Maxum completed 18 follow-on acquisitions, consolidated IT and back-office systems, executed multiple capital raises, rebranded the company, restructured senior leadership, and tripled sales before a 2012 agreement to sell the business to Pilot Flying J.
Earlier in his career, Bissell was a partner at Northwest Capital Appreciation, leading investments in the security and protection sector. He orchestrated the ASG Security investment and served as interim CEO in 2003, overseeing a transformation that included a new chief executive, headquarter relocation, and 33 follow-on acquisitions. Those moves increased recurring monthly revenue from roughly $900,000 to $3,000,000 within four years and culminated in a 2006 sale to Parthenon.
Bissell’s financial foundation includes senior roles at SLP Capital, where he served as co-managing partner and chief financial officer, and a stint as a managing director in corporate finance at Bankers Trust, with earlier positions at Drexel Burnham and Paine Webber. He also holds board seats at private companies and participates in several charitable organizations.
Board observers say E. Perot Bissell’s corporate finance expertise and hands-on operating experience make him a valuable director at Acadia Healthcare, particularly as healthcare and security enterprises navigate consolidation and capital-intensive growth initiatives.
